Title: R&D Product Development Technician( Mechanical)
   Location: Sunnyvale, CA

   Duration: 12 months.

Description:
The successful candidate will be part of the R&D Team to develop, build and integrate complex capital equipment prior to shipment to customers.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for complex assembly, set-up and calibration of assemblies, including vacuum system assemblies and electro-mechanical assemblies. Follows and refines assembly drawings, schematics and procedures. Summarizes issues and findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. Also includes maintaining and integrating improvements to the R&D Lab infrastructure.
Qualifications / Requirements:
* AS degree, or equivalent experience/education
* More than 5 years experience in capital equipment industry.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
* Experience in product testing and electronic system integration an asset.
* At least 2 years experience with CVD and Automated Wafer Handling equipment preferred.
* Experience with assembling complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
* At least 5 years experience with assembling complex vacuum system assemblies.
* At least 5 years experience with vacuum system trouble shooting, preferred.
* Overtime and weekend hours may apply/ Shift hours may be required based on material delivery basis
* Ability to follow complex procedures, schematics and drawings.
* Good understanding of computer systems, including MS Office Suite, SAP.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced /cross-functional deadline driven environment.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to frequently perform lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling
* Must be able lift and carry up to 50lbs occasionally
* Standing, bending and sitting is also required, on a regular basis
* Ability to work in tight spaces while bending and stretching i.e. performing integration vacuum & electrical type connections, labeling , dressing of cables, rework etc.
